Talk Events (“we”, “us”) plans and coordinates events in Abuja, Nigeria. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Information you give us
When you send an enquiry or booking request, or contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we collect what you choose to tell us. This usually includes:
- your name, phone or WhatsApp number and, if you provide it, your email address;
- details of your event, such as the type of event, the date, guest numbers, venue or area and budget;
- anything else you write in your message.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the servers that deliver this site record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this to keep the site secure and working properly. We do not use it to identify you.
How we use your information
- to reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal for your event;
- to plan and deliver an event you have booked with us, including sharing the necessary details with venues and vendors working on it;
- to send you planning tips and news, only if you have ticked the box asking for them;
- to keep our website secure and to meet our legal obligations.
Our lawful basis
We rely on your consent when you send us an enquiry or opt in to updates, on the steps needed to enter into and perform a contract when you book with us, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing our business.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed:
- with venues and vendors involved in an event you have asked us to plan, limited to what they need to do their work;
- with service providers that host this website and deliver our email, who process it on our instructions;
- where the law requires us to.
Some of these providers may store information outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we take steps to make sure it remains protected.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond and to follow up on your event. If you book with us, we keep records for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Photographs from events
We only publish photographs in which people can be identified, and testimonials, with the consent of the people concerned. If you appear in a photograph on this site and would like it removed, tell us and we will take it down.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time, including for marketing messages;
- complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you believe we have mishandled your information.
